So, I went to work on Friday and found out that we all might lose our jobs if our contract with the company we work for is canceled. Long story short, they seem to be blaming us for stuff that they are responsible for and threatening to let us all go if we don't fix all their issues within three weeks. And they are making my company eat the bill for any extra hours or staff we have to bring in to do so. Sounds like it might be a good scam for them - they get to pass the buck on to us so they don't get in trouble with their bosses, get us to fix the problems for free, and then might be able to just let us all go anyway. Fun times. So I'm going to be working my ass off and justifying my very existence for the next few weeks.

I lost my job several years ago and had trouble finding work and ended up in debt and have really only recently felt that I was recovering from that incident. Now it might all happen again. At least I'm probably eligible for EI this time, and have some money saved up... but that's the marriage fund. So if I need to use that, we'll be pretty much back to square one for getting married. I don't want to lose everything again.

In other news, my cat is being expensive. I had to get his yearly check-up and vaccinations this month, and then we found out he had an ear infection, so he was on medication for that. Today I took him back to the vet to be groomed by their groomer. I feel so bad about the whole ordeal. I usually have him groomed once a year in spring, because he overheats during the summer. But this year we had such a long, cold spring that I waited, then when it warmed up all the groomers were booked until the end of June. So while waiting to take him to the groomer, he started shedding like mad, and got a huge mat all over his butt/back, and he wouldn't let me comb it out. So today they shaved it, and he actually has scarring from having the blood supply to his skin disrupted by the scary mat. I feel so guilty! He'd never had a problem with matting before, and I feel horrible that it got so bad. Poor kitty. Also, the groomer accidentally clipped his whiskers, on both sides of his face. I don't know how she managed to do that - none of the other groomers I've taken him too have done that! So now he has little short whiskers and I feel bad for taking him to someone who was stupid enough to cut his damn whiskers!

Also, while I was at the vet I had them check his ears to make sure the infection was gone, but there was still gunk in there. It looks like different gunk this time though, (last time it was a yeast infection), so they checked him for ear mites (negative) and are sending a sample of the gunk to a lab to find out what this new infection is. That rustling sound you hear is the sound of money flying out of my wallet.

Oh, and did I mention I might lose my job in three weeks?
